Osteoporosis: a Silent Disease – CBS Talk Philly with Barry Jacobson, M.D.

Dr. Barry Jacobson, Medical Director of the Crozer-Keystone Osteoporosis Center of Delaware County, spoke with Pat Ciarrocchi on CBS Talk Philly about ways to delay and prevent osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is considered a “silent” disease because, without a bone density scan, there is no way to know you have it until you’ve already had a break. Fortunately, a DEXA scan is an easy, painless way to test your bone density and estimate your chance of having a fracture.
